Comfortable reclining chairs are available to enjoy the beautiful view or for bird-watching. The great room offers plenty of seating for conversation, playing a board game, or reading. During the cooler months, a fire is always crackling in the fireplace. Central heat and air-conditioning make the Lodge an oasis during hot summer days and a warm retreat after your cold weather activities.
You’ll find a hammock, gliding loveseat and dining table beckon you outside to enjoy the serenity of our great location on the Rogue. The outdoor fireplace is a cozy spot for morning coffee or an evening drink.
The Rogue Glen is located between Ennis Riffle and historic Carpenter’s Island at one of the widest points on the Rogue – we call it the ‘lake’. Our stretch of the Rogue is very popular for fly and boat fishing. In addition to seeing steelhead and salmon jumping, you’ll see Great Blue Herons gliding across the water, Osprey diving for fish, flocks of Merganser and Mallard ducks, and Canada geese. Bald eagles fly back and forth from their up-river nests - always a breathtaking sight. You may catch sight of otter and a pair of beavers that make the ‘lake’ home. Deer graze in the meadow across the river and if you’re lucky, a bear may venture down to the water’s edge. Songbirds and butterflies flit around the many flowers in the yard. Our cats, Neo and Tiger Lily, may curl up at your feet or if welcome, snuggle in your lap.
“Most people come to the river for the fun of river sports - whitewater rafting, kayaking, and great fishing. But as with all outdoor activities, there are those moments of awe and wonder when the magnificence of nature and the wonder of our incredible planet catch one’s breath and fill one with awe. The Rogue Glen’s location on this beautiful river and the gentle hand of its gracious hosts in creating a comfortable home, beautiful yard and lovely rooms, combine to create a truly serene experience.”
